Elite Indian Restaurant

Elite Indian Restaurant is a well – established restaurant  located at Bambalapitiya. The dishes out delicious North Indian, Chinese and Sri Lankan cuisines for a reasonable price.

Ambience

If you ever walk pass by HSBC Building at Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Elite Indian Restaurant is one of the places you will never miss. It is a two – storied building located at the opposite side of the road.

I always prefer the first floor, since it is not always crowded as the ground one. Each floor is air conditioned and has a television which you can enjoy a Football or a Cricket match while dining.

Food and Drinks

I like the Tandoori chicken biriyani at Elite Indian. They serve a rich portion of biriyani rice, along with a huge chunk of Tandoori chicken, an egg, raita, gravy and green chili paste. The rice is well cooked, and it is well seasoned with spices. The chicken is crispy from the outside, but from inside it is very soft. It has the reddish color, and you really get the yogurt and spices marinated taste from this.

Elite Indian serves a good Seafood fried rice as well. It has plenty of shrimp and cuttlefish pieces, and the portion size is enough for two. The rice is nicely cooked, and not too oily, which is good.

The Elite Special Mixed Fried Rice is quite different from the rest of the fried rices in their menu. This has a light red color, and tastes quite spicy as well. You will get to find many pieces of Shrimp, Cuttlefish, Beef, Chicken, and Mutton in this rice bowl.

Service

Although the staff members look friendly, the service at Elite Indian can get crummy during the busy lunch hours. Sometimes you can see the customers complaining to the staff about delaying their orders. During crowded hours, you will have to sit there and wait around 10 – 15 minutes to get a waiter to your table, which is really annoying.

Conclusion

Elite Indian Restaurant may not serve the most authentic version of North Indian food, but definitely they have the cheapest food. Their service is not good, but this is still an affordable place to grab some good Fried rice and Biriyani.
