Gonuts with Donuts

“Gonuts with Donuts” was indeed a place that simply drove their customers “nuts” by the delicious, mouth watering doughnuts. Over the time, the prices have gone up, and the hyped attitude has gone down. But still they serve some pretty good sweet and savory doughnuts for a reasonable price.

Ambience

The Gonuts with Donuts outlet at Castle Street is a drive through one, where the customers can take-away food. They also do home deliveries.

I recently tried the Deviled Chicken bun, which is a real treat for 130 rupees. The fresh, crunchy bun was filled with firm, juicy deviled chicken, sauce and mayonnaise.

“Chocolate Surprise” is a doughnut that you never get tired of.  This comes under the sweet doughnuts range, and its deliciousness will always surprise you. If you are a chocolate lover, this is just the doughnut for you since it is filled with warm, creamy chocolate.

The “Sugar Drops” at Gonuts with Donuts are just doughnut balls wrapped in icing sugar. It tasted sweet, but there is nothing much to rave about.

I sort of liked the Hot chocolate I had here. It was very creamy, and had a nice chocolaty flavor in it. Even though it looked nothing like the picture in their menu, it was okay for the given price tag.

Conclusion

Gonuts with Donuts was and still remain as the one restaurant specialized for doughnuts in Sri Lanka. Even though its hyped attitude has gone down, it still can be recommended to a doughnut lover.
